About

Carol Battaglia has been working in the area of trusts, probate, conservatorships and public benefits for over 20 years. She is recognized as one of the foremost authorities on Special Needs Trusts in California. She became interested in estate planning and Medi-Cal benefits while helping her parents and her in-laws plan for aging and disability.

Later she started to focus on the field of Special Needs Trusts which stemmed from her desire help her brother in-law who is autistic. Carol has written numerous articles on the subject of Special Needs Trusts, including authoring a chapter of the Continuing Education of the Bar’s Treatise on Special Needs Trusts. She was also the first attorney in San Diego County invited to be a part of the prestigious, nationally recognized Special Needs Alliance. Carol is frequently invited to share her knowledge at seminars and conferences throughout the state and nationwide.

In her spare time she enjoys traveling, doing Yoga and Pilates and spending time with her family, especially her husband Tony and her grand-dog Canyon.
